The house

A house of considered objects.

Embelora is a small editorial commerce house — a long table of considered objects for daily ritual, gathered from independent makers across scent, body, table, and home. Below is the short version of how we started, and the rule that decides what stays.

A wooden cutting board with a cut lemon, a saucer of coarse sea salt, and an open notebook with a fountain pen on a travertine kitchen counter in warm afternoon light. A casement window stands open behind, opening onto a green garden.
The kitchen where Embelora started. The board is still on the counter.

We started in a kitchen, in August. A wooden board, the window open, late light folding across a saucer of salt.

The first object sat on the counter for a week. We wanted to know whether it would still feel right on the seventh morning. It did. We started shipping the month after.

Embelora is a house, not a workshop. Every object is chosen slowly, on one condition: that we would reach for it ourselves every day. Each is ours by choice — it earns its place by being touched daily, not held back for occasions.

The house is organised around four rooms.

Behind each room is a small set of objects we kept and a longer list we passed over.

There is no countdown, no clamour, no noise. What arrives in your inbox once a week is a dispatch from the studio — a new edit, a small object, sometimes a recipe.

The long table is real. The choosing, the editing, the decisions about what earns a place — all happen here. If something arrives less than perfect, please write. We’ll make it right.
