Best hair care product I’ve ever used! Seriously.
Smells great, love that has only few ingredients including Castro oil, performs very well with hold, and I’ve become huge fan of Johnny slicks across the board. Their clay pomade is top notch, and I’m a former buyer of all the other brands. I’m not sticking with Johnny slicks. Great stuff!!!

I went with the formula 49 because of the matte finish. It's definitely a thick paste and I get a decent hold throughout the day. Even did a 60 min outdoor workout in the summer heat and it held its form. Not sure how I feel about the "rugged" scent, but overall I'm satisfied.
Holds very well. Was surprised , didn think a pomade could hold all day. Got the 2 oz so can bring this on the plan for my vacation next week. Very well satisfied!

Read what you purchase and understand what it is. Also the way its used I messed up and ordered it thinking it was like the original oil pomade. It is not and I don't have a oily beard mine is dry and I needed the oil kind. So I wasted my money but,that being said when I used it it did hold my beard in place all day. So I'm having to use liquid drops and clay together so I can use it without wasting my money.

I took my time to leave a review because I wanted to give this new product a one month trial run. So far I’m really enjoying this product.
I love supporting veteran owned companies. I served in the Marine Corps from 2011-2015 in the Infantry. Even though Johnny worked in the armory and refused take my rifle after being out in the field for a week, I still support him. 😉
First, I appreciate how these products are organic and good for your hair. Far too many products contain harmful chemicals that do damage to your body. They even use glass amber jars instead of cheap plastic containers. That’s a great touch.
Second, the application process is simple. It takes me only a few minutes to fix my hair. I needed something that was quick and easy to use. I do not have the time to blow dry or spend 20 minutes fixing my hair.
Thirdly, I love the natural, matt look it gives my hair. I hate products that look shiny and unnatural.
Lastly, it holds my hair in place for as long as I need it to which is at least 14 hours. I’m a nurse and my shifts are 12.5 hours long. Also, being up in Wisconsin it rains and snows a lot. I had to spend some time outside in the rain and my hair didn’t fall apart after being out in the rain. That proved to me it has a good, strong hold.
I will be buying again and I will be recommending this company to my friends and family.

This product meets and exceeds my expectations! Quality, Function and Ingredients are amazing! The Rugged fragrance is pleasant and is present just enough to enjoy but to not overwhelm my nose or anyone else around me. It's 100% enjoyable!

Nice subtle smell and blends into the hair well, nice hold and shine. I just wish it washed out a little bit easier with just water. It does wash out completely with shampoo. Might have to try the water based pomade next!

Formula 49 is the only pomade that’s held my hair consistently throughout the day. It smells great and applies well, definitely a quality product with the consistency I need. Safe to say, I be using other hair products for my styling needs.
After years of trying different pomades and hair gels, I think i’m finally ready to settle down. The pomade will last me all day and the fragrance is amazing as well. I will definitely be ordering more soon and will definitely get the bigger size now that I know I love this product. This is a great product plus the company being owned and operated by military veterans makes it that much better.
Love this stuff, definitely the real deal. It smells fantastic in the rugged scent. You can even put a little water in your hair and use it the next morning after an evening out!
